What is an Oxidata Test?

An oxidata test is a simple test that may hold a bigger clue about your cardiovascular health than simply running your cholesterol numbers. In fact, there is more research out there to support the idea that cholesterol alone is not to blame for plague build up in your arteries. It may be the oxidation of your LDL cholesterol, that is the culprit.

What is Oxidation?

Oxidation is the damage caused by free radicals in the body. OK, so what are free radicals? Free radicals are simply unpaired electrons. Electrons like to be electrically neutral. When they are not they quickly look for something to latch on to thereby creating a new molecule. This is how many chemical reactions take place. Without these oxidation-reduction reactions, not only would life not take place, but many of the other important functions of the body wouldn't either. For example, white blood cells often kill their bacterial or viral enemies with free radicals. The problem is, when free radicals are unchecked in the body, the fatty wall around each cell becomes oxidized, and damaged. That cell, in turn, steals from another and another, leading to a cascading effect.

Free radicals are like fire. Properly controlled, fire can be a useful tool, but left unchecked, fire rages out of control and is a powerful destructive force. So it is with free radicals. This is where anti-oxidants come in. They lend that extra electron to stop the destruction, and control free radicals. With out adequate levels of anti-oxidants, free radical damage can damage the tissues, and organs of your body, leading to disease, and disfunction.

The proper anti-oxidants levels for your body may be inadequate for another. Many things effect your oxidation levels, including:

Stress

Illness

Drugs (yes, prescription drugs too!)

Pollution

Smoking (including second hand)

Physical activity levels

Diet

and many others. The only way to really know, is to use an oxidation test.

Oxidation, and free radical damage are also responsible for aging. Virtually every anti-aging solution out there promotes reducing oxidation of your cells. The most effective anti-aging skin creams, reduce free radical damage, to restore youthful appearance. This works from the inside as well. Although, that does not mean you should eat the anti wrinkle cream!! It does me, however, that you need to protect your body against oxidation damage.

The easiest way to control your oxidation damage is through a wellness diet. Simply taking anti-oxidants may not be the answer. Too many anti-oxidants may also be harmful. The key to good health is proper balance.

There are many research papers written every year to back up the claim that it may be oxidation rather than simply cholesterol, that causes cardiovascular disease. This is why it is important to know your oxidata numbers.

Cholesterol levels may be important for your cardiovascular health, but the picture is incomplete with out knowing your oxidation numbers.

Are you getting enough antioxidants in your diet?

Are you making more free radicals than you should be?

Free radicals cause your body to age faster!!!

Free radicals have been assoicated with high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, allergies, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, cataracts, macular degeneration, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Lupus, MS, cancer, inflammation and much more!

To find out your oxidata numbers, get tested. It's a simple non invasive test, but if you want a more complete picture on how efficiently your body is working, get a complete metabolic test which will not only give you more information on your oxidata numbers, but also tell you more information on your stress levels and how it is effecting your body's functions. Armed with this information, it is much easier to improve your health, increase your energy, improve your digestion, and give you back that feeling of wellness. Start today, visit our E-Clinic and order your metabolic test, and counseling session, to regain control of your health.
