Natural Health Remedies
Natural health remedies used to be considered "alternative" and not something normal people sought out, because drugs worked so well. Today, you know better. People in the U.S. are now seeking over 37 Million more "alternative care" visits per year over traditional medical care. 60% of physicians are now recommending alternative therapies, and 47% are offering alternative therapy themselves according to JAMA. So why the switch? Why seek out natural health remedies instead of just reaching for another pill?

It's about balance. Most natural health remedies are not nearly as harsh as drug based treatments. Not only are they more gentle on the body with few side effects, but many of them actually do a better job of increasing healing, rather than focusing on decreasing pain. There are many studies that now show NSAID drugs to cause problems with not only the digestive system, leading to
leaky gut syndrome
but they may actually block the body's ability to repair joints! This is not good news for people who take them for joint pain and have been on them for years. These patients usually have leaky gut syndrome. This may cause a hyper-permeable intestinal wall, leading to a hyper functioning immune system, adn more inflammation. The simplest thing to do is to start using natural health remedies. Start a wellness program. Many foods you currently eat, may actually be harmful to you, and may be a contributing factor in your imbalances. The first step in a natural health remedies should always be to clean up your diet. Figure out what you are doing wrong and what you are doing right. Let me give you an example. Speaking to a patient the other day, I learned that this patient was told their knee needed to be replace and the cartilage was gone. He was 35. His now in his 60's, with no knee pain, and still has his original parts! Do you want to know the secret? Would you like to know the natural heal remedy that worked best to help heal is knee? It may be more simple than you think. Many people have undiagnosed food allergies. When you have an IgE reaction, its immediate, you know about it. When you have an IgG reaction, there may be inflammation through out your whole body, but will eventually manifest in weak points, such as your joints! The inflammation will, more than likely, go unnoticed for years. In fact, it may take from several hours to several days for the allergen to affect your body. A more natural, healthy remedy is preferred over a harsh chemical, but its best to first figure out what you may be doing to contribute to the problem. This is the biggest obstacle I face in clinic. Treating your imbalance, with herbs, and food, will only give you temporary relief at best, unless we deal with the underlying cause, and correct any activity that may be contributing to the problem. This is why we use a

to determine how your body is functioning. With out this, other natural health remedies may not be as effective. Not to say they will not work, but you may not get the full benefit from them.
A good example of this is in the treatment of diabetes. There are foods that have been used clinically to treat diabetes, and can help. Foods such as: Licorice tea Spirulina Chlorophyl Essiac tea Fruits and vegetables String beans Carrots Radishes Yams Avocado Lemon and Lime Grapefruit Herbs, such as: Dandelion root and leaf Yarrow flowers Blueberry/Huckleberry leaf And more... but the results will not be nearly what it should be, if you do not reduce or eliminate your sugar intake.
Natural health remedies can be very effective, but you must first discover what is causing the dysfunction with in your body. You do not want to just reduce the symptoms, this will only lead to bigger problems. Discovering where the problem is, and what systems are not functioning up to par, will give you much better results and better health. After all, isn't that what you want?
